We gained some weight!

We did a repeat weigh-in on Wednesday and Brady was up to 9 lbs 6 oz. We did a good job stuffing him overnight and we were able to stop formula feeding and go back to breast feeding. We still have to supplement a little breast milk by snaking a tube into his mouth while he was eating and pushing it in with a syringe. Sounds delicious right?

Well Baby Check-up!

I was starving our little boy! Tuesday, January 3rd, we went in for our well baby check-up and discovered that Brady was down 14% in weight. He went from a birth weight of 10 lbs 3 oz. to 9 lbs, 8 oz. when we left the hospital. Today, he weighed in at 8 lbs 12 oz! He's so skinny! Any thing over 10% they get worried, so we had to start force feeding him formula. We ended up bottle feeding, to make sure he in as much as he could. It was a battle, we had to strip him totally naked and keep poking him to stay awake. Needless to say, he was constantly full and we had "drunk baby" on our hand for the following 24 hours!

Brady is two days old!

Our second night home was a little rough. Brady had been eating every two hours for an hour, leaving mom little time to sleep. He does lay in his bassinett though, and he does like his swing and bouncer!

What a long day!! We had some friends come over on day two and bring us some dinner. They entertained Brady, or maybe he entertained them while mom was able to sleep for a while!

Going Home!!

We were able to go home on February 1st, otherwise known as superbowl Sunday. We left the hospital at about 3:00 pm. Brady was not to sure about his outfit or the car seat. Nate's parents and sister stayed the first night. Grandma was such a relief at 2am as we were finally able to get some sleep for a couple hours!

It's A Boy!!

Brady Jon Hadfield
January 31st at 3:06 am
10 1bs, 3 oz. 20 3/4 in.

My water broke at 8am on Friday, January 30th. We got to the hospital and were checked in by 3:00pm. I was immediately started on pitosin, a medication to increase contractions. I ended up with an epidural at about 7cm and was so happy after that! After two hours of pushing, little Brady joined our world super man style with his arm up over his head! It was a long and exausting experience, but of course worth every bit!
